Winners of Sustainable Restaurant Association's Food Made Good Awards 2016

Our catering team looking after our halls of residence including Hulme Hall and Dalton Ellis have won the prestigious Sustainable Restaurant Association’s Food Made Good Award in the category of in the category of Best Food Waste Strategy. Raymond Blanc presented the award to a Myles Kitchiner, Operations Manager from FoodInResidence. Competition was stiff in this category with Pizza Express and London caterer Vacherin also shortlisted. The catering team worked closely with colleagues in the University's Sustainability team to achieve this award.

A big thank you to all the readers of meetings and incentive travel magazine who voted for us to become a finalist in the Best Academic Venue category of the 2016 m&it industry awards.

Adam wins Tourism Star of the Year Award

Our very own Adam Woof, Operations Manager of The Chancellors Collection, collected the Tourism Star of the Year Award at the Visit Manchester Awards on 12th November 2015 at Hotel Football. The Award recognises individuals who demonstrate an exceptional customer experience and offer visitors high standards of customer service. Adam provides supportive and motivational leadership to his team to deliver high quality locally and ethically sourced food with excellent standards of customer service at high profile VIP events for the University. The Chancellors Collection has grown due to its reputation for great customer service to consist of Christies Bistro, Café Rylands in John Rylands Library, Broomcroft, Whitworth Hall, the cafes within The Alliance Manchester Business School and the café within Manchester Cancer Research Centre, all different parts of the University with demanding requirements. Adam has been responsible for the delivery of a number important events for the University in some extremely challenging environments with VIP guests including Simon Western, Mick Hucknell, Lord Mandelson, Sir Philip Craven and Sir Alex Ferguson.

Highly Commended in 2015 Visit England Awards

We were delighted to have been highly commended in the 2015 Visit England Awards in the 'Business Tourism Award' Category.

The awards ceremony took place on Monday 11 May 2015 at the Sage Gateshead. The Chief Executive of VisitEngland commented 'It is a great achievement to win a Highly Commended Award in a field of very high quality applications. The Award places The University of Manchester Conferences and Venues in the top five businesses for excellence in their category in England. I warmly congratulate them on this achievement.'
